Baseball Falls Short In Final Game Of Series Versus NC Wesleyan

Rocky Mount, NC-- The William Peace University men's baseball team fell to N.C. Wesleyan in the third game of the weekend series by a score of 4-3.

Comeback Falls Just Short:
In the first inning the Pacers could not put any hits together. Max Johnson, of the Bishops, put the first hit on the board. A sacrifice bunt by Nate Gardner advanced Max Johnson into scoring position. Max Johnson would later move to third on a pop fly and score on a wild pitch giving the Bishops a 1-0 lead. Christian Dix put the Pacers in the hit column and began his impressive 3-3 day at the plate. Logan Andrews extended the Bishops lead with a deep home run scoring two runs. The Pacers would put runs on the board in the top of the sixth inning when the Pacers loaded the bases and J.D Makauskas walked in a run. Michael Sterne would follow with a Sacrifice fly to senterfield and score Alec Allred. William Peace had three hits in the top of the eighth inning (Christian Dix, Alec Allred, and Michael Sterne). Michael Sterne's double again scored Alec Allred. Although the Pacers put together a comeback, they fell just short as the Bishops hung on to win (4-3).
