Brevard, NC -- The William Peace University men's baseball team headed to Brevard College to face the Tornados in a doubleheader on Friday, February 9th. The Pacers won game one (2-0) and fell (5-4) in game two. They now improve to an overall record of (3-2).

Game One
Sean Finneran would start the scoring off for the Pacers with a single to left field in the 2nd inning that would bring home Nathan Holt. WPU held their (1-0) lead in the bottom of the 2nd with three quick outs; a strikeout by pitcher Derek Jackson and catches by Easton Payton and Tyler Tilson. At the top of the third, Alec Allred would hit a single to center field, allowing Justin Torres to score and increase the lead to (2-0). Derek Jackson would record two strikeouts in the bottom of the third to maintain the Pacer lead. WPU would get into some trouble in both the bottom of the sixth and seventh, when the Tornados would have runners on second and third, but would ultimately win the game (2-0).

Game Two
The Pacers got off to a rough start in game two, with Brevard scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st. WPU would recover at the top of the 3rd, scoring three runs to tie it up (3-3) - one on a double by Christian Dix, while Michael Sterne's home run would bring in the other two. The Pacers would then hold the Tornados in the bottom of the third with a double play by Justin Torres at shortstop, Mikey Anerton at second base, and Michael Sterne at first, ending the inning. Neither team would add any more runs in regulation, sending the game into extra innings. In the top of the 8th, Nathan Holt would bring home Michael Sterne and give WPU a (4-3) lead. However, the Tornados would tie it up (4-4) on Joseph Nelms' single to left field, eventually winning (5-4) in the bottom of the ninth on a single to center field by Jadon Wooten.
