HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Christopher Newport took an early lead with a 3-pointer, taking the score to 7-3 in their favor.

  • The Pacers struggled to keep up in the first quarter, trailing by 13 points.

  • The second quarter was more of the same, with the Pacers playing catch-up the rest of the half, finishing out the half trailing 49-34.

  • Things started turning in the Pacers favor at the second half as Khadijah Daniels and Mariah Ballen would lead the Pacers. Ballen would score 14 of her 20 points in the second half.

  • Mikayla Ray would continue her impressive play down in the post  this season grabbing 8 boards in the second half to go along with 6 second half points.

  • The Captains quickly regained their footing in the fourth quarter, pulling further away from the Pacers with the largest lead in the game 84-56 from a 3-point shot made by Sondra Fan. The Captains finished out the game with timely shooting and secure the 91-68 win.
