Raleigh,NC-- The William Peace University Women's Basketball team defeated Mary Baldwin University by a final score of 73-54. This moves the Pacers to 2-0 in USA South Conference play.
The Pacers would start the game on a 16-4 run. Offensively it would be a sloppy start for both teams as they both struggled with turnovers early in the contest.
Mikayla Ray would dominate the boards in the first quarter finishing the first with nine rebounds.
The Pacers would extend their offensive run into the second quarter as the Pacers would push their lead to 24-8. Â
The end of the second quarter would see Mary Baldwin go on an 8-0 run, capped off by a jumper as time expired from Rachel Hepler.

Mary Baldwin would hit a jumper early to start the third quarter to cut the Pacer's lead to 8. The Pacers would answer right back with a 10-2 run lead by six points from Khadijah Daniels.
Daniels would score 15 of her 21 points in the second half. This is Daniels second straight game with 20 points.
The Pacers would never trail in this contest as they would hold Mary Baldwin to 32% shooting from the field.

William Peace would shoot 45% from the field and 40% from behind the arch going 6-15 from downtown.

Both teams would continue to struggle with turnovers and the game would finish with 41 total turnovers. Mary Baldwin would make the most of the turnovers from the Pacers as they would score 24 points off turnovers.

The William Peace Pacers now 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the USA South, will hit the road for their next four games. In their first match-up, the Pacers continue conference play and match up against the Pride of Greensboro College who currently are (5-1) overall. The game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Greensboro, NC on December 4, 2018.
