Raleigh, NC--- The William Peace University men's basketball team improved to 2-0 in conference play after defeating the Brevard College Tornados by a score of 82-68.
Mikal Gaylord started the scoring for the Pacers with a deep three-pointer. Tyson Sellers hit back to back three pointers with 13:45 remaining in the first half to extend the Pacers lead.
The Tornados leading scorer, Quadhafi Turner, would be red hot from behind the arch. Turner would finish the first half with 15 total points going 5-6 from three.
The Pacers gave up the lead with 3:28 remaining in the first half but Donolly Tyrell Jr.'s big three pointer took the lead back. That basket would wrap up the first half and the Pacers went to the locker room leading, 38-31.
First Half Stats:
Trey Bryant broke the single game rebound record in the game with 18 rebounds for the Pacers. After beating the record, Bryant continued to impress down in the paint and would tally 23 total points and add two more rebounds down the stretch to finish with 20 rebounds.
Down the stretch the Pacers would continue to hit timely shots. There would be nine different scorers for the Pacers.
Tyson Sellers made a deep three pointer with 52 seconds remaining in the game and that would seal the big home win for the Pacers. The final score from Raleigh would finish, 82-68 in favor of the Pacers.

The William Peace University basketball team will be back in action on December, 5 at home. The Pacers will match up against USA South rival Methodist University. With the Pacers win today, they now improve their record to 4-3 and will face a Methodist team with a record of 3-4.
