Greensboro Pride Ends Conference Win Streak for Pacers

CARY, NC -- The William Peace University men's soccer team took on the Pride of Greensboro College in their third game within a four day window. The Pacers battled throughout both periods but were unable to fend off the Pride as Greensboro took the 2-0 victory.

The first half got off to an evenly matched start with both teams firing and controlling the field equally. The Pride would jump on the scoreboard first late in the 33rd minute with a goal sent in from the right side of the field from Parker Spesock past the left side of Jacob Smith in net for the Pacers. The Pacers would have several close looks with four shots on goal in the first period. The Pacers would head into half time trailing the Pride, 1-0.

The second period would show the wear and tear of the Pacers as they struggled to control possessions on their offensive end of the field. Greensboro would connect again in the second period in the 66th minute as Carlos Barragan placed the ball inside the 18 for Will Curry to send into the bottom left corner for the second goal of the game.
