Danville, VA-- The William Peace University women's basketball team fell 101-66 to Averett University on January 7th, 2018. The Pacers now drop to an overall record of (2-7) and a conference record of (2-2).The Pacers struggled in the first half, shooting only 29.4 % from the field. They were outrebounded 31-16, however they shot 93.3% from the line. Mikayla Ray notched 12 of her 30 points in the first, but the Pacers would head into halftime trailing 53-34. Ray would finish the afternoon with 30 points, 13 boards and 2 Steals. This marks Ray's seventh double-double of the season.
In the start of the second second half, the Pacers continued to struggle offensively while Averett shot 45.3% from the field and would continue to be led by Samm Chandler who added 16 of her 37 points in the second half. The Pacers were outrebounded 66-27 and also outscored in the paint 58-36. The Pacers would shoot 43% from the field in the second but it would not be enough as the Cougars would pull away.

The Cougars outrebounded the Pacers on the offensive end of the court, 28-7.

The Pacers will face Brevard College at home on January 10th, 2018. Brevard comes into the contest (6-5) overall and our coming off back to back wins over Agnes Scott and Huntingdon this past weekend. Tip-off iis scheduled for 6pm in the Hermann Athletic Center.
