Fayettville, NC-- The William Peace University women's basketball team fell to Methodist University (76-69) on Sunday, January 28th, 2018. The Pacers now drop to an overall record of (3-14) and a conference record of (3-8).
In the first quarter the Pacers and Monarchs went back and forth trading buckets at the end of the quarter the Pacers would trial 19-16. At the beginning of the second quarter the Pacers
would go on a run and take the lead. The Pacers would lead at halftime 38-35.
DeJah Cheatham and
Shaniya Taylor were joint point leaders with 9 at the half.Â
Coming out for the third quarter
DeJah Cheatham started the second half scoring for the Pacers.
Mikayla Ray would also add to the scoring as she hit a couple of layups on back-to-back possessions. After the third quarter Methodist came back and had a lead of 55-50.
Shaniya Taylor hit a jumper early in the fourth and the Pacers would come within two but the Monarchs would eventually pull away and win 76-69.

Jayde Grant led the Pacers with 16 points each and
DeJah Cheatham had 15. The Pacers outshoot the Monarchs shooting 42.2% from the field, while the Monarchs shot 40.6% from the field.

- Shaniya Taylor had 16 points and 3 rebounds
- Jayde Grant had 16 points and 5 rebounds
- DeJah Cheatham had 15 points and 3 rebounds
- Mikayla Ray had 13 points and 10 rebounds earning another Double-Double. This marks her 13th double-double of the season.
FOR THE FOE
- Kayla Goldsmith led Methodist with 18 points and had 11 rebounds
- Kodi Centry had 16 points and 17 rebounds
- Kaneya Chambers had 14 points
WHAT'S NEXT
The Pacers will continue conference play at home on Thursday, February 1st, 2018 at 7 p.m.  Greensboro currently holds an overall record of (14-5) and a conference record of (9-1).
