Raleigh, NC-- The William Peace University women's basketball team fell to Meredith College (79-67 ) on Sunday, January 24th, 2018. The Pacers now have an overall record of (3-12) and a conference record of (3-6).

The Hermann Athletic Center was packed and rowdy as the game started. Meredith came out and took the early lead. After the first quarter the score Meredith led 29-14. Meredith went 4-7 from behind the arc in the first quarter. However, in the second quarter the Pacers got back into the game. Led by
Mikayla Ray and her 17 points and 9 rebounds the Pacers trailed at the half 42-36.

In the third quarter,
Shaniya Taylor started the scoring for the Pacers with back to back buckets. The Pacers kept it close all quarter and went into the 4
th down 61-52. In the fourth the crowd got behind the Pacers and the lead would be cut to as close as 2. After a timeout the Avenging Angels would once again pull away and win the game 79-67. Peace shot 39% from the field while Meredith shot 45%. The Angels finished shooting 50% from three point land.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Pacers will continue conference play against NC Wesleyan on January 27th, 2018. The 2 p.m. matchup will take place in Rocky Mount, NC; NC Wesleyan comes into the contest with a conference record of (4-5) and an overall record of (7-11).
