Raleigh, NC--The William Peace University Women's Basketball team fall 79-55 to Averett University on Saturday afternoon. The Pacers fall to an overall record of (2-11) and a conference record of (2-5). The Pacers came out and trailed 22-13 after the first. However, they played better in the second quarter and pulled the score to 36-30 with Averett leading at the half.
Mikayla Ray led the Pacers with her 10th Double-Double of the season by posting 15Â points and 17Â rebounds.In the second half, the Pacers could not stop the cougars. Averett had 28 offensive rebounds leading to them shooting 29 of 79 from the floor. The Pacers shot 20 of 61 from the floor. Averett shot 19 of 25 from the line, with Peace shooting 13 of 20. Mikayla Ray and Jayde Grant led the team with 15 points each. Averett would eventually pull away from Peace in the third quarter and go onto win the game 79-55.

- Amani Ajayi led the Cougars with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
- Samm Chandler scored 16 points and 7 rebounds
- Â Ravyn Johnson had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
- The Cougars outrebounded the Pacers 64-34.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Pacers will face Mary Baldwin College at home on January 21st, 2018. Mary Baldwin comes into the contest (1-13) overall and (0-6) in conference. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm in the Hermann Athletic Center.
