RALEIGH N.C. -- Today was day two for the USA South Conference Tournament as the William Peace Pacers were upended by Meredith University by a score of 2-1 in the first round of the tournament. This game brought the Pacers season to a close as the tournament first round was double elimination and the Pacers split their double header against the Angels the previous day of play.

In a rather intense game with much on the line for the Pacers, Starting Pitcher Kelsey Durham had her hands full early. After pitching a total of two innings she kept the board scoreless. Heading into the third the Pacers looked to keep their defense inside the infield alive but Meredith brought home two runs to give them an early lead. In the top of the sixth the Pacers looked to start an offense spark as Jordan Criswell's single brought home Jessica Mangum to make the score 2-1. The Pacers would fail to bring home the tying run in the sixth inning. Pressure was mounting heading into the seventh and the Pacers could not come up with the run they needed to continue fighting. Final score after seven, 2-1 Meredith. 

Despite the season coming to an end, the Pacers achieved several accomplishments in earning National ranking. Below are the National ranking as of 4.06.17:
