Box Score 2 LOOKOUT, GA -- The Pacers (13-15) finished their weekend of conference play 1-3 after splitting their doubleheader against Covenant College (15-9) 1-1.
GAME 1:
The Pacers dominated game one of the series defeating the Scots 9-1. Sophomore standout, Kelsey Durham controlled the mound and only allowed 3 hits. On the offensive end, Amanda Ludlum went 2-3 batting .667 for the game with one RBI. The fourth and sixth inning proved big, bringing in three runs each, several due to pitching errors. GAME 2:
The Pacers came up short in a thrilling second game falling 6-5 to the Scots. The Pacers were on top of the bats first. Heather McLean doubled to center field to score Jordan Mangum, and Jordan Criswell, who went 3-3 on the game hit a single up the middle to score Heather McLean. The following three innings, the Scots would score six unanswered runs. Liliana Berber relieved Kelsey Durham in the bottom of the third inning and would hold off the Scots offense, only allowing 1 hit. In the sixth inning, the Pacers would score one run to begin their rally and made their final at bat in the seventh inning rather exciting. Lindsey Wiggins got things going and singled up the middle. Jordan Byrd came in to pinch run for Wiggins. A pop up and a strikeout would put the Pacers in jeopardy to end the game but a double by Shay Poteat would score Byrd making the score 6-4. Jordan Criswell and Kacy Haithcock were walked thus loading the bases with two outs in the top of the seventh. Katelyn McLamb entered the game to pinch hit for Lilianna Berber and would single to right field scoring one. In an attempt to score two, Jordan Criswell was tagged out at home, ending the game 6-5.
