Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University women's basketball team picked up their first conference win after defeating Salem College, by a score of 79 to 69. This is also marks the Pacers first win of the season.
The Spirits would score the first points of the night, although the Pacers would answer right back with a three-pointer from Deja Umstead. The Pacers would finish with 23 first quarter points. At the start of the second quarter the Pacers would be hampered by turnovers, which the Spirits would take advantage of, taking a 33-32 lead with 2:43 left in second quarter. The Pacers would again answer right back with a layup by Jayde Grant and retake the lead. The Pacers would not trail again for the remainder of the game.
