Raleigh N.C: WPU men's basketball picked their first win of the season over the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College in home opener Monday evening. The Pacers won 89-70.
The first half of the game the Pacers took the lead with their up tempo offense from the start and did not look back. As the half went on the Pacers found themselves in some foul trouble and the Tigers gained momentum by the end of the half cutting the Pacer's lead. The end of the half the Pacers scored 35 points while the Tigers had 28 points.
Second half started with the Pacers getting back into their rhythm and once again stretching their lead. The Tigers continued to battle but it was the Pacers night, keeping a 20 point lead for the rest of the half. The Pacers finished up the game scoring 52 points in the second half. Sophomore Trey Bryant ended the game with a double-double. Bryant then lead the game with 12 rebounds and 15 points. Junior Samuel Arnold ended the night with 14 points of his own along with 8 boards.. Sophomore Camden Ferguson ended with 12 points while junior Paul Dunlap ended with 11 points.
