Greensboro Holds Off William Peace, 100-97

RALEIGH -- The William Peace University men's basketball team fell to Greensboro College, 100-97, on Sunday afternoon. The entertaining game came down to the final few possessions in which the Pride knocked down crucial free throws to take hold of first place in the conference.

Camden Ferguson scored a career-high 24 points to lead the Pacers while knocking down a school-record 8 three pointers. Ryan Emfinger added 19 points. Jay Hicks and Chris Thomas scored 14 each.

The close game featured plenty of momentum shifts and runs from both teams. The score was tied nine times and the lead was exchanged 14 times throughout the course of the game.

The first half was the difference with the Pride going up by three, 52-49. The second half started poorly for the Pacers and William Peace fell behind by nine with 14:25 left. The Pacers slowly crept back into the game but never overcame the Pride's lead.

The Pride were forced to make its free throws in the final minutes and finished the game 26 of 33. The Pacers missed a couple free throws in the second half and finished 15 of 22.
