RALEIGH -- The William Peace University women's basketball team capped their seventh straight victory on the year with a 54-39 win over Greensboro College on Wednesday night. The Pacers were led by freshman
Tyler Mercer who scored 16 points in the win.
William Peace went up 15-13 after the first quarter, but the Pride quickly took back the lead in the second quarter to go up 17-15 with 7:46 left. The Pacers closed the quarter on a 15-3 run to go up 30-20 at halftime. The Pacers' aggressive play style and attacking the basket got Greensboro into foul trouble and the trend continued in the second half.
William Peace continued to stretch the Pride thin having to go deep into their bench with foul trouble. Two starter on the Pride fouled out of the game and allowed William Peace to coast to a 54-39 win.
