NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The William Peace University volleyball team traveled to face 14th-ranked Christopher Newport Tuesday night, where the Pacers fell to the nationally ranked Captains in three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-16.
Tempestt Frazier led WPU (12-5) with 11 kills at a .450 clip along with a block solo and a block assists.
Laura Bland finished with seven kills and six digs, while
Liana Solomon posted a double-double of 19 assists, 11 digs, three kills and a block assist.
Carson Williams paced the way defensively with 15 digs and a pair of assists.
Hannah Miller led the way for CNU (13-4) notching 13 kills, two digs and two block assists. Riley Garrison recorded 10 kills, three digs and a pair of block assists. Hope Webb tallied 36 assists, seven digs and a kill.
The WPU volleyball team jumps back into conference play this weekend for a pair of USA South quad-matches, both of which will be played at Averett University's Grant Center. The Pacers face LaGrange and Huntingdon on Saturday followed by Agnes Scott and Piedmont on Sunday. They play at noon and 2:00 p.m. both days.
