DEMOREST, GA – The William Peace University men's soccer team traveled to Piedmont College for their USA South conference opener Friday afternoon, where the Pacers fell by a final score of 2-0.
It was the first time WPU (3-2-1, 0-1 USAS) was shutout this season. Piedmont outshot the Pacers, 14-7, and held a 9-3 edge in corner kicks.
Luke Martin struck first for the Lions (3-2-1, 1-0 USAS) in the 34th minute with an unassisted goal. Victor Munoz found Tommy Hill to make it 2-0 in the 73rd minute.
The WPU men's soccer team turns around on short rest tomorrow, traveling to face Covenant College at 2:00 p.m.
