RALEIGH, NC – The William Peace University volleyball team returned to the Hermann Athletic Center for the first time in a month and pushed their win streak to six games Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Greensboro College.
The Pacers (18-5, 9-2 USAS) cruised to a 25-13 win in the first set followed by a 25-12 win in the second. Greensboro (15-7, 7-3 USAS) clawed their way to a 27-25 win in the third to stay alive, but WPU turned it back on and closed it out in the fourth, 25-16.
Laura Bland led the Pacers with 16 kills and four digs.
Tempestt Frazier finished with 13 kills, five block assists and two digs.
Mya Parks recorded a double-double of 12 kills, 13 digs, four block assists and three service aces, while
Lindsay Alford added eight kills at a .571 clip along with three digs and three block assists.
Liana Solomon racked up 46 assists, nine digs, three kills, a service ace and a block assist. Defensively,
Carson Williams notched 20 digs, four assists and three service aces.
Brandy Johnson paced the Greensboro attack with 11 kills and three block assists. Even Sherer had eight kills and Emily Horn chipped in with seven more.
The WPU volleyball team is back at home this Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. against the Avenging Angels of Meredith College.
