RALEIGH, NC – The William Peace University volleyball team was back at the Hermann Athletic Center Tuesday night, where the Pacers fell to the Meredith College Avenging Angels, 3-0.
Despite losing in three sets, the final score wasn't anywhere close to indicative of how competitive the match actually was. Highlighted by a marathon of a second set, the Pacers (18-6, 9-3 USAS) fell by scores of 25-20, 34-32 and 26-24.
Laura Bland led the Pacers with 18 kills and seven digs.
Mya Parks added nine kills, eight digs and a service ace, while
Tempestt Frazier finished with seven kills, two block assists and a dig.
Liana Solomon recorded a double-double of 33 assists, 14 digs, two kills, two service aces and a block assist.
Carson Williams notched a team high 21 digs, a career high eight assists and a service ace.
For Meredith (19-3, 11-0 USAS), Caroline Corey paced the attack with 17 kills and 13 digs. Haley Reeg tallied 11 kills, three block assists and a dig. Hannah Blaylock turned in 45 assists, seven digs and a pair of kills.
The WPU volleyball team travels to Averett University Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The Cougars are also undefeated in the USA South at 10-0.
