CARY, NC – The William Peace University women's soccer team was back at WakeMed Soccer Park Sunday afternoon, where the Pacers took down the Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin by a final score of 4-0.
The Pacers (3-11-1, 2-7 USAS) turned in a dominant performance, racking up 50 shots to only one for Mary Baldwin. WPU also took 13 corner kicks to none for the Fighting Squirrels (0-14, 0-9 USAS).
Caylin Yarbrough led the way scoring her team-leading third and fourth goals of the season, starting in the 14th minute with
Kayla Bray getting credit for the assist.
Alyssa Gasperini made it 2-0 with her first goal of the season off
Amelia Melching's corner kick in the 30th, and then Yarbrough struck again two minutes later with the help of
Stephanie Arnold.
Yarbrough also added an assisst, connecting with Bray to make it 4-0 in the 63rd. It was Bray's second goal of her freshman campaign.
The WPU women's soccer team is back in action this Wednesday on the road against Greensboro College at 4:00 p.m.
