ROCKY MOUNT, NC – The William Peace University volleyball team was back on the road against North Carolina Wesleyan Wednesday night, where the Pacers swept the Battling Bishops to extend their winning streak to five games.
After a five-set thriller to open the season against the Bishops, it looked like WPU was in store for another battle as they escaped with a 27-25 win in the first, but the Pacers kept the momentum going and closed things out by scores of 25-19 and 25-18.
The Pacers are off to one of their best starts in program history, improving to 17-5 overall with an 8-2 mark in the USA South. NC Wesleyan drops to 7-13 and 5-4 in conference.
Tempestt Frazier finished with a team high 10 kills along with five block assists, while
Mya Parks recorded eight kills, 12 digs, three block assists, a service ace and an assist.
Liana Solomon racked up 31 assists, seven kills, six digs, a service ace and a block assist.
Laura Bland added seven kills, 14 digs, two assists, a service ace and a block assist.
Carson Williams notched 18 digs, three assists and a service ace.
Samantha Morton led the Bishops with nine kills. Evie Hunter had eight kills and nine digs. Autumn Spence also chipped in with eight kills.
