RALEIGH, NC – The William Peace University volleyball team was back at the Hermann Athletic Center on Saturday, where the Pacers payed tribute to seniors
Laura Bland and
Tempestt Frazier with a pair of 3-0 wins over Mary Baldwin and Emory & Henry.
The Pacers improve to 20-7 this season with a 10-4 mark in the USA South. It's the second time in program history the team has reached the 20-win plateau.
WPU kicked the day off against Mary Baldwin (4-22, 1-12 USAS), clinching the first set, 25-10, followed by a 25-11 win in the second and a 25-14 win in the third.
Bland recorded a double-double of 12 kills, 10 digs, two block assists and a service aces, while Frazier finished with eight kills at a .727 clip, along with four block assists and a pair of block solos.
Mya Parks posted eight kills, 11 digs, two block assists, two assists and a service ace.
Liana Solomon notched 24 assists, eight digs, three service aces and a kill.
The Pacers closed out the day against Emory & Henry (14-11), taking down the Wasps by scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-18.
Parks led the way with 15 kills, eight digs, three block assists and a block solo. Bland turned in 14 kills, eight digs, two block assists and a service ace. Frazier added eight more kills, three block assists and a pair of digs.
Liana Solomon racked up 31 assists, 17 digs, three block assists and three service aces.
Carson Williams chipped in with 12 digs and five assists.
The WPU volleyball team travels to Fayetteville on Wednesday for their USA South finale against Methodist. Play gets underway at 7:00 p.m.
