Huntingdon Hands Men's Soccer 2-1 OT Loss

CARY, NC – The William Peace University men's soccer team returned to WakeMed Soccer Park Saturday afternoon, where the Pacers dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the Hawks of Huntingdon College.

Huntingdon struck first on an early miscue from the Pacers (4-6-1, 0-5 USAS). Mac Puller intercepted an errant pass, made a move past a defender and just like that, the Hawks (2-6-1, 1-3 USAS) went ahead less than two minutes into the game.

WPU went into the break still trailing by one but tied things up in the 50th minute off a Chris Deleon corner kick. Deleon recorded his third assist of the season, finding Enrique Ochoa, who headed it in for his sixth goal of the season.

The Pacers buckled down defensively after their brief mental lapse to start the game, including eight saves from keeper Christian Ortiz. It wasn't quite enough though as Puller found Conner Howard all alone at the top of the box for the game winner just over three minutes into overtime.

The WPU men's soccer team is back at home on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. match against LaGrange.

Video Coverage and Live Stats will be available for the contest.
