RALEIGH, NC – The William Peace University men's soccer team made their home regular season debut on Saturday, as the Pacers fell to NAIA opponent Bob Jones University, 5-0.
Despite a number of opportunities to score, the Pacers (0-2) unable to capitalize on any of their 15 shots they took during the match, only putting five on target. The Bruins (2-1) took 21 shots, 13 of which were on goal took seven corner kicks compared to five for WPU.
AJ Redlinger started the scoring off for Bob Jones with an impressive goal from beyond the 18-yard box, and then Matt Moore found Stephen Grinder to make it 2-0 at the half. Moore also scored in the second half to go along with a pair of goals from John Wilson.
WPU returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 9 as they travel to take on Guilford College at 7:00 p.m.
