MONTGOMERY, AL – Following a 4-1 win over LaGrange in their USA South conference opener on Saturday, the William Peace University men's soccer team fell short this afternoon against Huntingdon, 1-0.

Bo Jenkins scored the only goal of the match for Huntingdon (2-4, 1-1 USAS), unassisted in the 80th minute. The Pacers (1-7, 1-1 USAS) had their chances taking nine shots and seven corner kicks, but they weren't able to finish any of them.

"We played fairly well, but we didn't convert on the opportunities we had off our set plays to go along with a couple of mishaps defensively," said head coach Caleb Husmann. "We played 80 minutes of quality soccer and needed 90."

The WPU men's soccer team will be back at WakeMed Soccer Park next weekend for a pair of conference games. The Pacers host Piedmont Friday at 4:00 p.m. followed by a 3:00 p.m. match against Maryville on Saturday.
