MONTGOMERY, AL – The William Peace Baseball Team has a long ride back to Raleigh after dropping the third game of the series to Huntingdon on Sunday, 18-3.
WPU (1-22, 1-20 USAS) held the Hawks to seven combined runs in yesterday's two games, but Huntingdon (17-11, 16-8 USAS) broke out for eight runs in the second inning alone this afternoon on their way to an easy, seven inning win.
Chase Roupp (0-3) was tacked with the loss, surrendering six runs on four hits and three walks in 1.1 innings of work, while Jared Gonzalez (5-1) struck out seven Pacers in six innings of work for the win.
At the plate, Tyler Klinedinst and Christian Neal both went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Brian Willis also submitted a 2-for-3 outing and scored a run.
Anthony Spivey had himself a day for Huntingdon, finishing 4-for-4 with five RBI and three runs scored.
The Pacers travel to Averett this weekend for a 2:30 game on Friday followed by a Saturday doubleheader starting at noon.
