LYNCHBURG, VA – The William Peace University men's basketball team traveled to face Randolph College Wednesday night, where the Pacers dropped their first road contest of the year, 75-64.

WPU (1-1) fell behind 11-0 to start the game until Chris Thomas hit a three at the 16:25 mark. The Pacers came all the way back to take a 21-20 lead on another triple from Thomas with just less than nine minutes left in the first, but the Pacers went into the break trailing, 33-26. The Pacers only shot 25% from the field (8-of-32) in the opening half with their last bucket coming at the 5:56 mark.

The Pacers didn't start the second half any better, going 1-8 and quickly falling behind, 44-28. They finished the game 20-of-68 (29.4%) from the field and 10-of-33 (30.3%) from three-point land. WPU was active on the glass, grabbing 18 offensive boards for 17 second chance points, but they coughed it up 15 times, which led to 20 points at the other end for Randolph (2-0).

Three Pacers finished in double figures, led by Ryan Emfinger's game high 17 points, six rebounds and two steals. Thomas recorded 15 points, seven boards and a pair of assists. Freshman Sam Johnson added 13 points, two rebounds, an assists, two steals and a blocked shot.

Zach Desgain paced the way for Randolph with a double-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.
