LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA – The William Peace men's soccer team had a rough outing in their first-ever matchup against the Scots of Covenant College falling, 9-1.
WPU (3-12, 1-8 USAS) let up six goals in the first half and three more in the second. Enrique Ochoa scored the lone goal for the Pacers netting a penalty kick in the 70th minute.
David Huertes scored the Scot's first two goals in the 14 and 16th minute, the first assisted by Danny Knight and the second by Snoopy Davidson. Davidson scored in the 25th with the help of Ian Meredith. Danny night scored an unassisted goal in the 31st. Michael Arango scored in the 37th with an assist from Noah Wiersma, and Hunter Brock scored in the 43rd to make it 6-0 with the assist credited to Andrew Jablon.
Gordon Carpenter found Builder Brock for a goal in the 53rd, Wiersma scored in the 66th, and Hunter Brock scored the last goal for Covenant (11-4-2, 7-1-1 USAS) in the 82nd.
The Pacers men's soccer team has one more game remaining. They'll travel to take on the University of Averett on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 5:00 p.m.
