DANVILLE, VA – The William Peace men's soccer team took the pitch for the final time this year losing on the road against Averett University, 4-1.
The Pacers (3-13, 1-9 USAS) took an early lead as Kevin Amaya scored his first goal of the year on the throw in from Phillip Peaden less than two minutes into the game. It was all Averett (6-10-1, 4-5-1 USAS) from there though as they scored four unanswered goals.
Jordan Palma scored the Cougar's first goal in the 12th minute. Nathan Brown made it 2-0 with an unassisted goal in the 40th minute. Brown scored in the 45th with the help of teammate Justin Lloyd, and then Lloyd also assisted Averett's final score, a goal from Tobias Andreasson in the 75th.
WPU had their chances taking 13 shots, 10 of which came in the second half, but they were unable to capitalize only putting three of those shots on target. Connor Johnston made seven saves for the Pacers.
