William Peace University

Rick Jones joined the William Peace University baseball staff as an assistant coach in 2020.

Prior to joining the Pacers, Jones spent a combined 14 years as a pitching coach at Panther Creek High School in Cary and Broughton High School in Raleigh. He also spent two years as the pitching coach for Cary Post 67 Senior American Legion Baseball.

Before coaching at the high school and American Legion levels, Jones spent 12 years as a head coach for youth recreation, all-star and travel teams in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Cary, North Carolina. Throughout his coaching career, he has developed extensive experience in pitching instruction, player development and recruiting.

A native of the Pittsburgh area, Jones graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Science degree. He is retired following a career of more than 40 years in sales, marketing and business management across various segments of the chemical industry.
