Coach Rick Jones joined the William Peace University Baseball staff as Assistant Baseball Coach in 2020. He also serves as the Head Coach for the Development Team and is the Recruiting Coordinator. He comes to the Pacers program after a combined 14 years as pitching coach at Panther Creek (Cary, NC) and Broughton (Raleigh, NC) High Schools, as well as 2 years as pitching coach for Cary Post 67 Sr. American Legion. For the 12 years prior to that, Coach Jones was the head coach for numerous youth recreation, all-star and travel teams both in the Pittsburgh, PA area (from where he originates) and in Cary, NC.
A 1975 graduate of Allegheny College (Meadville, PA) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Coach Jones recently retired after a 40+ year career in sales, marketing and business management within various segments of the chemical industry.
Coach Jones lives in Cary, NC with his wife, Nancy. They have two children and 5 grandchildren.
