CARY, N.C. - Josie Tucker scored a career-high four goals as the William Peace women's soccer team picked up its second straight win with a 9-1 victory over Mid-Atlantic Christian Monday afternoon at WakeMed Soccer Park.
Peace wasted little time getting on the board, as Ava Hooper scored just 36 seconds into the match off an assist from Tucker. Mid-Atlantic Christian answered four seconds later to even the match before the Pacers took control for the rest of the game.
Kerlyn Navarrete Trejos put Peace back in front in the ninth minute before Tucker scored twice in a span of just over two minutes to extend the lead to 4-1. Elena Ramirez added a goal off an assist from Gretchen Weeks in the 28th minute, and Meredith Snell scored off a Dixie Barnes assist in the 42nd to send the Pacers into halftime with a 6-1 advantage.
Tucker completed her hat trick just over three minutes into the second half before Savanna Berckmiller made it 8-1 in the 52nd minute off an Addison Tulowitzki assist. Tucker capped her four-goal performance in the 56th minute, with Jaylyn Altizer providing the assist.
Tucker finished the afternoon with four goals and an assist in just 27 minutes of action, recording six shots on goal. Navarrete Trejos added a goal and two assists, while six different Pacers found the back of the net.
Peace generated 47 shots with 28 on goal while limiting Mid-Atlantic Christian to five shots. The Pacers scored six times in the opening half and added three more after the break.
The Pacers improve to 2-1-1 on the season and have scored 15 goals over their last two matches. Peace continues its homestand Wednesday, Sept. 9, against Regent University at 7 p.m.
