FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – William Peace women's volleyball picked up its second USA South win of the season on Saturday, defeating Methodist 3-2 on the road.
The Pacers took the opening set 25-16 before Methodist evened the match with a 25-23 win in the second. Peace took the third 25-15, hitting .579 in the set, before the Monarchs forced a fifth with a 25-23 win in the fourth. The Pacers took the deciding set 15-9 to improve to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Aaliyah Anderson recorded a career-high 20 kills while hitting .459 and added four blocks. Olivia Smith finished with 10 kills, while Aubrey Chesson added nine. Jordyn Chinigo recorded seven kills, five blocks and two service aces, and Macey Bowes added five kills on a .714 hitting percentage and a team-high six blocks.
Gracie Payne finished with a team-high 18 digs and two service aces, while Savannah Hairr added 17 digs and four aces. Emily Thompson recorded 29 assists and eight digs, and Layla Farmer added 19 assists and five digs. Peace finished the match with 59 kills, 13 service aces, 73 digs and 11 blocks.
The Pacers remain on the road and head to Swannanoa, N.C., on Friday evening for a match against Warren Wilson at 6 p.m.
