Derick Disch Named Head Men’s Golf Coach

RALEIGH, N.C. - William Peace University Athletics has announced the hiring of Derick Disch as the next head coach of the men's golf program. Disch will join the Pacers prior to the 2026-27 season.

Disch brings several years of coaching experience to Peace, most recently serving as the varsity boys' head coach at Clayton High School. During the 2026 season, he led Clayton to a co-conference championship, with four golfers qualifying for the regional tournament and three earning All-Conference honors. Three members of the program also went on to continue their careers at the collegiate level.

"It was obvious early on in the process that Derick shares the same values that we do at Peace." Athletic Director Claude Shields said. "His passion for mentoring young men on and off the course was evident immediately and we can't wait for him to get started to elevate our program in one of the most competitive conferences in Division III!"

Disch also spent time as the junior varsity boys' coach and assistant varsity coach at Auburn High School, where the varsity program finished as the state runner-up in 2023. His coaching experience also includes leading girls' golf programs at Clayton, Willow Spring, and Oak Creek.

"I'm incredibly honored and excited to join William Peace and lead the men's golf program into its next chapter," Disch said. "I look forward to working with our student-athletes, helping them compete at a high level, and representing this university with pride."

In addition to his coaching background, Disch brings extensive experience within the golf industry. He has worked in golf operations at The Crossings Golf Club, Johnson Park Golf Course and New Berlin Hills Golf Course and previously served as the second assistant golf professional at Morningstar Golfers Club, where he helped organize junior golf camps, member events and tournaments.

A former collegiate golfer, Disch was a member of the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team from 2015-19 and helped the Warriors capture back-to-back conference championships during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. He earned NACC All-Conference honors in 2019 and was named a GCAA Academic All-America Scholar, becoming the first player in program history to receive the honor. DIsch also served as a team captain in 2019 and competed in an NCAA National Championship during his career.

Disch graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Mathematics Education.
