William Peace University Names Gillian Faski Sports Information Assistant

RALEIGH, N.C. - William Peace University Athletics has announced the hiring of Gillian Faski as its new Sports Information Assistant, joining the Department of Athletics Communications ahead of the 2026-27 academic year.

Faski brings experience in athletic communications, digital media, and social strategy across both NCAA Division I athletics and professional sports. Her background includes statistics, content creation, photography, and game day communications for multiple collegiate programs.

"What stood out about Gillian throughout the hiring process was her appreciation for every aspect of athletic communications." Director of Athletic Communications Carly Vadinsky said. "She fully understands that the daily responsibilities are just as important as the stories we tell, and she has the ability to do both at a high level. We are so excited to welcome her to the Pacer family!"

Most recently, Faski served as an Athletic Communications Intern at Winthrop University, where she served as the primary statistician for women's lacrosse and contributed to all aspects of athletic communications, including game notes, press releases, graphic design, and social media coverage.

Prior to Winthrop, Faski gained professional sports experience with the Columbia Fireflies, helping grow the clubs social media audience by more than 10 percent while producing content that generated more than 2.9 million views across digital platforms. She also worked in athletic communications roles at George Washington University, where she produced the top liked and viewed Instagram reel in department history and helped drive record breaking engagement across multiple NCAA women's sports.

Her collegiate communications experience also includes work with athletic apartments at North Carolina, Stanford, Towson, Elon, and South Carolina, and with positions at UNC Athletics, The Daily Tar Heel, and Tobacco Road FC, building an extensive portfolio in media relations, photography, content creation, and strategic communications.

"This role brings together so many of the things I enjoy about working in college athletics, from communications to creative content." Faski said. "I am excited to get started at Peace and be part of the Pacer community!"

A native of North Carolina, Faski earned a Master of Science in Sport & Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina in 2026 after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Media & Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2023.
