BREVARD, N.C. - William Peace made history Saturday evening with a 15-1 road win over Brevard, improving to 8-4 on the season and setting a new program record for wins in a single season.
In just his second year at the helm, head coach Troy Humphrey has guided the Pacers to the program's eighth win, surpassing the previous single season mark.
It was a record breaking night for senior captain William English, who rewrote the program record book in multiple ways. English dished out seven assists, setting a new single game program record, and in the process broke his own single season assist record. He now sits at 31 assists on the year after previously setting the mark with 29 last season.
English also added a goal to finish with eight points, playing a role in more than half of the Pacers' box score.
On the offensive end, Caleb Garey led the way with a dominant performance, scoring seven goals and adding an assist. Logan Willis added two goals, while Tom Newhall, Dylan Sullivan, Aidan McNeely, Tyler Rutherford, and Connor Barnes each found the back of the net.
William Peace took control early and never looked back, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter and extending it to 12 by halftime. The Pacers finished with 51 shots and 64 ground balls while holding Brevard to just one goal on 17 shots.
Defensively, Carson McGee recorded six saves as the Pacers controlled possession and limited opportunities throughout the game.
"This was a rough week for the boys." Head Coach Troy Humphrey said after the game. "I'm proud of their commitment to the process and what they are building. This game allowed a lot of younger guys, who are 100% bought in, to get valuable game reps."
With the win, William Peace continues to build momentum as the season progresses.
