LYNCHBURG, Va. – William Peace University women's soccer came up short on Saturday evening, dropping a 2-0 match to Randolph College at WildCat Stadium.
The Wildcats struck first in the 32nd minute when Noelle Kaiser put Randolph ahead 1-0. Randolph doubled the advantage in the 62nd minute as Ava Brandenburg converted off a feed from Kyla Lockette.
The Pacers continued to battle throughout the contest, generating a strong look early in the second half from Mia Rumachik, but Randolph's back line held firm. Goalkeeper Gaby Vazquez controlled the defense with six saves against a steady offense from the Wildcats, who finished with a 24-1 advantage in shots.
With the loss, William Peace moves to 0-2 on the season. They look ahead to their next match up against Warren Wilson on Monday, September 8th.
