VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – William Peace women's soccer battled to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday afternoon against Regent University.
After a scoreless opening half, Regent struck first in the 57th minute when Lianne Edmiston broke through with the opening goal. The Pacers responded just six minutes later, benefitting from an own goal in the 63rd minute to even the match at 1-1.
Savanna Berckmiller led the Pacer attack with three shots, including two on target, while Mia Rumachik and Samantha Fore also tested the Regent goalkeeper.
Defensively, goalkeeper Gaby Vazquez held down the Pacers with two key saves while playing all 90 minutes. Peace also earned four corner kicks in the second half but could not find a game-winner.
With the result, Peace moves to 1-3-1 on the year, with their next contest opening USA South play against Mary Baldwin.
