CARY, N.C. – William Peace women's soccer opened USA South play on Saturday night at WakeMed Soccer Park, falling 4–0 to Mary Baldwin.
The Pacers held their ground in the opening half, but the Fighting Squirrels struck in the 16th minute to take a 1–0 lead into halftime. Mary Baldwin added three more goals in the second half to secure the result.
Despite the scoreline, goalkeeper Gaby Vazquez turned in a strong performance between the posts, recording 11 saves while facing 28 total shots. Samantha Fore, Josie Tucker, and Emily Arblaster each registered shots on goal as Peace pushed forward in the second half.
William Peace moves to 1–4–1 (0–1 USA South) on the season and will look to bounce back in their next conference outing.
