Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – William Peace University men's tennis fell 5-2 on the road against conference leader Methodist University on Wednesday afternoon at the Gene Clayton Tennis Center.
The Pacers (2-5, 1-3 USA South) fought hard across the board but couldn't overcome an early 3-0 deficit after doubles play.
Carlos Correa delivered a commanding win at No. 5 singles, defeating Brady Mendler 6-1, 6-3 to put the Pacers on the board. Ivan Ponce capped the match with a dramatic three-set win at No. 6, rallying for a 5-7, 7-5, 10-7 victory over William Johnston to secure WPU's second point of the day.
William Peace will look to bounce back with another conference showdown as they continue their USA South schedule this weekend.
