Men's Basketball Earn Fifth Straight Home Win with 77-67 Victory Over Regent

RALEIGH, N.C. - William Peace men's basketball earned its eighth win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Regent University 77-67 inside the Hermann Athletic Center. The victory marked the Pacers' fifth consecutive win at home and continued a strong stretch of non-conference play.

Peace took control early, jumping out to a 43-32 lead at the halftime break with an efficient combination of shooting and ball movement. The Pacers knocked down seven three-pointers in the first half and used multiple scoring runs to stretch the lead before half.

Senior guard Shawn Jones played a key role in the win, finishing with 14 points and six rebound. Freshman guard Dalton Johnson delivered a strong performance off the bench, scoring 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, including two three-pointers, and adding three assists in 13 minutes.

Elijah Cathcart added 13 points and three made threes, while Elijah Green chipped in 10 points and four assists. Parker Hodgson rounded out the balanced scoring effort with 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists as the Pacers placed five players in double figures.

Regent was led by Darrin Clark and Dorian Tema, who scored 12 points apiece, but Peace's defensive pressure and rebounding down the stretch helped seal the win.

William Peace will look to carry its momentum into its next contest when they face Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday, Decmeber 17th for a 2 p.m. start on the road.
