Women's Basketball Opens Season with Dominant Win at Randolph

Lynchburg, Va. -  The William Peace women's basketball team started the 2025-26 campaign on a high note Friday night, defeating Randolph College 65-41 on the road.

The Pacers came out strong with a 21-7 first quarter and never looked back, holding the Wildcats to just two points in the third quarter to secure the win.

Sophomore Zikira Henderson led the way with 15 points, hitting three shots from beyond the arc and adding six rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Freshman Ensley Perry showed out in her collegiate debut with 13 points and four rebounds, while returning guard Alayna Randolph added nine points and two assists.

William Peace dominated the paint and in transition, finishing with 51 rebounds, 26 points off turnovers, and 22 fast-break points. Freshman forward Zakoreya Davis contributed on the boards, grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds.

"We started off the season strong tonight" Second year head coach Annalee Bollinger said after the game. "We defended at a high level and came out with the right energy. I couldn't be more proud of this group. They've practiced hard for the last month and finally got to have some fun on the floor tonight. Anytime you can see your hard work translate into a win it's a great sight. We have a lot of work to do, but we will definitely enjoy this first win."

The Pacers (1-0) will return to Raleigh for their home opener on Wednesday, November 12, against Roanoke College at 6 PM inside the Hermann Gymnasium.
