LEXINGTON, Va. - William Peace completed a competitive three-day weekend at the Keydet Invitational hosted by VMI from November 14-16, recording appearances in nearly every event on the program and collecting several finals swims, relay points, and season-best times across the board.
Women's Results
Kaitlyn Kucera led the women's team with one of the largest events of the meet, advancing to finals in multiple events. She placed fourteenth overall in the 200 freestyle after swimming 2:06.94 in prelims and 2:05.25 in finals. She also reached the B-Final of the 200 breaststroke, finishing in 2:50.81 after a prelim time of 2:54.21. Kucera added a finals swim in the 200 individual medley, placing nineteenth in 2:26.46. She contributed on all three Peace relays, including the 200 medley relay breaststroke leg (2:11.07), the lead-off leg of the 200 freestyle relay (1:57.10), and the third leg of the 400 freestyle relay (4:27.09).
Charlize DeLair secured Peace's highest women's finish in a sprint event, advancing to the C-Final of the 100 freestyle with a prelim swim of 59.25 before taking sixteenth in the finals heat with a 1:00.21. She also swam 27.19 in the 50 free and 1:05.21 in the 100 butterfly, placing her inside the finals structure for multiple events. DeLair anchored all Peace relays throughout the weekend.
Kylie McWhorter turned in a 30.84 in the 50 freestyle and added strong relay contributions across the weekend, including the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays. She also recorded a 1:15.42 in the 100 backstroke.
Elise Langer competed in sprint and mid-distance free and backstroke events, posting a 33.01 in the 50 free, a 1:15.42 in the 100 free, and a 1:15.42 in the 100 back. She swam key legs on both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
Jocie Dingle completed a full sprint schedule with times of 34.53 in the 50 free, 1:22.13 in the 100 backstroke, and 1:22.13 in the 100 freestyle.
Men's Results
Jack Lancaster highlighted the weekend on the men's side, swimming a 23.17 in the 50 freestyle and a 50.98 in the 100 freestyle, along with a 1:56.54 in the 200 free.
Josh Day delivered a strong sprint showing with a 23.38 in the 50 free, a 52.92 in the 100 free, and a 1:09.55 in the 100 backstroke.
Kadin Rayford added a 23.51 in the 50 free and a 52.30 in the 100 free to round out his top times of the meet.
Stone Doppke completed multiple events, including a 26.48 in the 50 free, a 56.94 in the 100 free, and a 2:09.27 in the 200 free.
Zack Radka swam consistently in the sprint free events with a 25.55 in the 50 free and a 57.29 in the 100 free, and also competed in the 100 backstroke.
Ruben Garcia recorded 1:00.50 in the 100 free, 2:08.96 in the 200 free, and 5:59.50 in the 500 free.
Cormac Davis swam one of Peace's strongest IM races with a 2:17.53 in the 200 IM.
AJ Newton completed the men's distance assignments with a 5:24.55 in the 500 free.
The Peace women finished ninth overall with 111 points and the Peace men finished seventh with 98 points to close out the three-day invitational.
William Peace will be back in action on November 22nd as they head to Greensboro College.
