Women's Basketball Falls in Non Conference Matchup

Box Score SWANNANOA, N.C. - The William Peace University women's basketball team took a tough loss to Warren Wilson College on the road on Thursday night in the Dervries Athletic Center.

There were 6 lead changes throughout the game, but the Pacers led 32-28 at halftime. Coming out of the half, the Owls outplayed the Pacers in the third quarter and fourth quarter, to lead to a final score of 75-70.

"We lost a tough one on the road tonight." Head Coach Annalee Bollinger said after the game. "When you have a young group, you're still learning how to win and mistakes will happen. Unfortunately, we made some tonight that we couldn't recover from. However, we did some really good things that we can capitalize off of moving forward."

The Pacers committed 31 turnovers, leading to 34 points for the Owls. The Pacers 46% shooting from behind the arc was not enough to surpass the Owls competitive defense.

4 Pacers scored in double figures. Brene'a Daye led the Pacers with 16 points, going 4-6 from behind the arc. Zikira Henderson followed with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Allye Woodruff had 13 of her own, going 3-5 from behind the arc. Alayna Randolph finished with 11 points, and 9 rebounds.

The Pacers are back in action when they visit cross town rival Meredith College for the second match up of the season on February 4th at 6 PM.
