Women's Soccer Battles To 1-1 Tie Against Randolph

CARY, N.C. – Emma Avery scored the game-tying goal in the second half as William Peace played to a 1-1 women's soccer draw against Randolph at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday.

The contest was the second game of a men's and women's doubleheader against Randolph. The Pacers' men faced Randolph in the first game.

Avery scored her second goal of the season in the 58th minute on an assist from Emma Mayer. The tie evened the Pacers' record at 1-1-1 while Randolph is 1-0-1.

The shots favored Randolph 6-4 but the Pacers had more corner kicks 3-2. Goalkeeper Gaby Vazquez led a stout defense with three saves.

The Pacers conclude a four-game homestand Wednesday against Regent at 4 p.m. The site is WakeMed Soccer Park.
