Volleyball To Co-Host Raleigh Invitational This Weekend

RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace will co-host the Raleigh Volleyball Invitational this weekend.

The Raleigh Invitational features 14 matches at two sites – seven at William Peace and seven at Meredith, also co-hosting. The matches at William Peace will be held at the Hermann Athletic Center.

"We're excited to have the opportunity to host a wide variety of teams from all over the region," Pacers Head Coach Hannah Marshall said. "It will be a weekend full of great competition for our second weekend of play."

Action at William Peace starts Friday, Sept. 6, with three matches. The Pacers host Bridgewater at 3 p.m. and Bridgewater faces Warren Wilson at 5 p.m. William Peace takes on Warren Wilson at 7 p.m.

Four matches are set for Saturday, Sept. 7, at William Peace. Catholic and Guilford tangle at 9 a.m. and William Peace takes on Guilford at 11 a.m. Catholic plays Randolph Macon at 1 p.m. and William Peace squares off with Randolph Macon at 3 p.m.

The Pacers are 2-2 overall after playing in the season-opening Marlin Invitational last weekend. Both wins were five-set thrillers over Marymount and Geneva (Pa.).

For the Pacers, Jordan Juanes ranks second in the USA South Conference in kills per set (3.50) and third in points per set (4.03). Maegan Brylski is third in assists per set (8.69) and fourth in service aces per set (0.81). Vivian Camplin ranks fifth in digs per set (4.50) and Jordyn Chinigo ranks sixth in hitting percentage (.314).

Bridgewater enters this weekend with a 2-2 mark while Catholic is 1-3 overall. Guilford's record is 3-2, Randolph Macon is 2-1 and Warren Wilson is 0-2.
