Buckler, Gutierrez Earn CSC Academic All-District Tennis Honors

RALEIGH, N.C. – Patrick Buckler and Jasseli Gutierrez of William Peace garnered Academic All-District Tennis honors on Tuesday.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by the College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions – NCAA I, II and III and NAIA.

To be eligible for Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. They must be in the tennis lineup for 70 percent of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores.

Buckler, a junior from Angier, N.C., played No. 3 and No. 4 singles in addition to No. 2 doubles for the men's team. He majors in business analytics.

Gutierrez, a senior from Manhattan, N.Y., played No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles in addition to No. 2 and No. 3 doubles for the women's team. She graduated from William Peace over the weekend with a criminal justice degree.
