Price Wins Twice In Women's Tennis Season Opener

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Kala Price of William Peace was victorious in two women's tennis matches on Saturday.

Price beat Sabrina Dickerson 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 singles in the Pacers' morning match against Randolph. Later in the afternoon against Lynchburg, Price defeated Emma Pinola 6-3, 6-2 in No. 2 singles.

Against Randolph, Price and Camryn Straughn nearly won in No. 1 doubles, losing 7-8 (3-7) to Lena Kersten and Sabrina Dickerson. Against Lynchburg, Mya Sampson nearly pulled out a win in No. 3 singles, falling 2-6, 7-5 (9-11) against Reese McAtee.

Price, a freshman from Raleigh, N.C., provided both wins for William Peace in 8-1 losses to Randolph and Lynchburg. The Pacers (0-2) are back on the court Sunday, March 3, at Guilford in Greensboro, N.C. The match begins at 2 p.m.
