Men's Basketball Hosts Averett In Home Opener Wednesday

RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace makes its season home debut on Wednesday, Nov. 20, against Averett at the Hermann Athletic Center. Admission is free to the men's basketball contest, which starts at 7 p.m.

The Pacers (0-2 overall) are looking to bounce back from their weekend trip to the Frankie Allen Tip-Off Tournament in Salem, Va. They flashed potential in close losses to Saint Vincent (74-68) and Springfield (55-52). Sophomore guard Ryan Lominack was named to the All-Tournament Team after producing 12 points and six rebounds against Springfield.

Lominack and freshman guard Elijah Green lead the Pacers with 10 points per game after two contests. Green is the assists leader with four per game and senior forward Ababacar Thiam is the rebound leader with seven per game. Senior guard Michael Dulin averages nine points a clip and sophomore guard/forward Shawn Jones averages 6.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, three assists and a team-high 1.5 blocks. Sully Caruso is the steals leader with 1.5 per game.

Averett is 2-0 overall following wins against Maryville 85-79 on Nov. 9 and Southern Virginia 79-70 on Nov. 12. Maryville was ranked 20^th in the nation at the time. Jamison Graves averages 20 points to lead four players in double figures. Bryce Shaw averages 18 points per game.

The Pacers are seeking their second straight win in the series. In 2023, William Peace won 78-67 in Danville, Va., to snap an eight-game losing skid against the Cougars.
